Having served as FBN’s president for more than 20 years, Bob has helped grow the company into one of the premier residential construction and remodeling organizations in the greater Boston area and developed a reputation for transparency, high quality craftsmanship, and nearly unparalleled customer service among general contractors. Throughout his tenure heading FBN, he’s tried to make client satisfaction his top priority. To this effect, he introduced the revolutionary business model of giving his clients full control of budget and project decisions, believing that the contractor’s job is just to provide the clients with all the necessary information to make those decisions and then implement them to the highest standard. Under his leadership, FBN has grown from $750,000 in annual revenue to more than $10 million and won dozens of local and national awards. Personally, Bob has won both Builder of the Year and Remodeler of the Year from the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB); been honored at an American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) gala for his contributions to the association; won a community service award from the International Furnishings and Design Association; earned a President’s Citation from the ASID President; and served as president of the BRAGB for 2015-2016. After graduating from Phillips Exeter Academy, Bob decided to travel across the U.S. and work in Europe for two years instead of attending college, a decision he still regards as one of the most rewarding he’s ever made. After returning to the U.S., he worked his way up from dishwasher to manager at the popular 33 Dunster Street restaurant in Harvard Square where he began to develop his philosophy on the importance of customer service. After entering the construction industry as a carpenter in the early 1980s, Bob quickly rose to become president of BEEM Construction in 1987 and then became the head of the growing FBN team in 1995. He enjoys FBN’s fun, collaborative atmosphere and heading a team that is incredibly easy-going about pretty much everything except customer service. Bob tries to ensure that every client trusts that he and his team always have their best interests at heart. The best part of his job is proving daily that nice guys don’t always finish last. When he’s not helping his clients build their dream homes, Bob loves to travel and spend time with his wife and family and play golf with friends, though he enjoys when people put their trust in him perhaps more than anything else. He also supports causes including cancer research, human rights and equal opportunity, and ethics in business.
Chris has been working in construction for over 30 years and has significant experience not just in executive-level management but in practicing carpentry himself as well. He has built a wide variety of projects over his career—many of them while he was the owner of Aztec Construction, Inc.—including historic mill conversions, large production multi-family units, low-rise and mid-rise commercial buildings, and specialized commercial facilities such as cleanrooms, labs, and testing rooms. He then narrowed his focus specifically to high-end residential construction and renovation and became a Principal and Operations Manager of BayPoint Builders Corp., growing BayPoint from a start-up to one of Boston’s larger residential builders and remodelers. Chris studied at Northeastern University and the Boston Architectural College, and he is OSHA and EPA Lead Certified and has a Construction Supervisor’s License. His interest in civics and leadership led him to become a member of the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB), the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), and other professional organizations, and he served on the Clinton, MA Zoning Board of Appeals for 24 years as well as on three school building committees. Chris finds the day-to-day interaction with his colleagues incredibly enjoyable, especially in the context of FBN’s supportive and collegial but challenging culture. He also enjoys sharing the wealth of experience he has accumulated over his career by mentoring some of his younger colleagues. For Chris, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a client’s joy and satisfaction upon completion of a project. When he’s not satisfying clients or fulfilling any of his civic duties, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, cycling, mountain biking, running, and swimming.
Larissa’s work at FBN is dynamic and constantly evolving. She creates and implements project estimates and budgets, provides anticipated and ongoing cost updates to both our team and to our clients to keep everyone informed and on the same page. The Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston has recognized Larissa for her work several times over the past decade. Most recently, they presented her with the Executive Officer Appreciation Award in 2015 and naming her the Rising Star of the Year in 2014. Prior to working at FBN, Larissa briefly worked for an interior design company in Florida and graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Larissa enjoys that FBN has become like a family to her with years of having fun with her coworkers while attending award shows and going on company summer outings. She strives to carry this culture into her relationships with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors. This allows her to help FBN's clients relax while we realize their vision for their dream home. When she’s not crafting and maintaining project budgets, Larissa enjoys traveling, advocating for animals, and horseback riding.
Bob is one of FBN’s partners and serves as the head of production. In this role, he works directly with FBN’s teams in the office and in the field as well as with homeowners to maintain project budgets and schedules. Bob has accrued a wealth of construction expertise after working in the industry for more than 30 years, and the projects he has managed have ranged from small bath upgrades to the construction of an 8,000-square foot homes, the complete renovation of a large estate, and several Rebuilding Together Boston projects. Bob is OSHA and Lead Paint Certified, and he is also a Certified Graduate Remodeler. The Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston recognized his work in 2014 with the Gold PRISM Award for Project Manager of the Year. Bob worked as a laborer for a local builder during the summers while he was in high school and found his calling in constructing and renovating high-quality homes. After graduating, he began working full-time and learned every aspect of carpentry from frame to finish. Over the course of his career, Bob has learned the importance of being patient in starting projects and developing them thoroughly first to allow better control of both budget and schedule, and he still learns from his talented colleagues every day. When he’s not overseeing projects, Bob loves to play guitar, go to Patriots games, and vacation at the beach, not to mention his voracious crossword puzzle addiction.
Peter has enjoyed a long and successful career in construction management and brings decades worth of experience to his role as Vice President. He founded Woodbourne Builders Inc., a residential renovation company in the Boston area, with his lifelong friend Marc Murray, and he ran the company as its president for 31 years before he and Marc joined FBN’s team. Together they won numerous awards, including five Contractor of the Year awards from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry—for the Best Exterior of 2010, the Best Historic Renovation of 2010, the Best Interior of 2010, the Best Bathroom of 2012, and the Best Commercial Project of 2012—and the 2014 Remodeler of the Year Award from the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston. After graduating from Don Bosco Technical High School, Peter studied Building Construction and Architecture. Peter appreciates being surrounded by talented coworkers in a cooperative environment at FBN and how the company treats it clients just as it treats its own employees and trade partners. He promotes FBN at all business-related events and at every opportunity he gets. Apart from construction, Peter enjoys attending his kids’ sporting events and practicing with them as well as golfing, riding his motorcycle, and skiing. He also supports causes that address the environment, substance abuse, and homelessness.
Peter’s primary role at FBN is helping to pick up and deliver materials to the carpenters, but he also serves as a set of spare hands on the job site from time to time. Before joining the FBN team, he served as a lead framer after graduating from Elder High School in Cincinnati and remains a proud Cincinnatian. Despite ironically vowing to never end up in construction when he was growing up, Peter genuinely enjoys working in the industry and especially being part of the FBN team where everyone shares a team first mentality, which makes it easier for him to learn valuable skills as a younger employee. He also likes having his coworkers be able to count on him, so he is constantly looking for an opportunity to step up and help out on the job site. As an avid hockey player, he is on the ice four nights a week, and he also enjoys grilling and playing guitar.
As an associate project manager, Jacob works with other project managers in the FBN office to coordinate the work of the on-site team and ensure that each client’s vision is fulfilled on schedule and within the budget. He recently joined the FBN team after graduating in 2016 from UMass Amherst, where he made the Dean’s List and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Building and Construction Technology. His love for construction and his passion for learning help him grow and excel in his role at FBN. Prior to joining the FBN team, Jacob was a carpenter’s assistant at Steveworks LLC and a Student Maintenance Supervisor for UMass’s Auxiliary Services. He was also proud to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in 2011 to work on building projects to provide relief to those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Jacob enjoys how the values of professionalism, honesty, and putting the client’s preferences first are central to FBN’s culture. His favorite part of the job, though, is visiting job sites and seeing the projects he manages progress and his client’s dreams get realized. Outside of the office, Jacob’s hobbies include exercising, cars, and cooking.
John has been honing his carpentry skills since high school and has been building custom homes for more than a decade. Over his career, he has worked on projects ranging from small-scale home remodels to the complete construction of large custom homes, and his keen eye and perfectionist style complement his years of experience. John first started developing his skills doing landscaping at 13 and continued to work on projects for neighbors through high school, helping him realize how much satisfaction he gets from standing back and viewing what he’s built for someone and seeing their face light up during and at the end of a project. After graduating from high school, he was working at a gas station when he met a contractor who took him on as a laborer and helped him develop into a carpenter and then into a high-end construction supervisor. John enjoys the exciting work of building custom, unique homes for each project and the connection he builds with homeowners while working with them for months at a time, and he strives to involve his clients in site meetings so they know what’s happening each week. A natural outdoor person, John enjoys fishing, walking, and hiking with his dog and girlfriend as well as attending Patriots’ games and working on his own house and yard.

As a site superintendent Tim’s work ranges from small services, to warranty work, to long-term projects. He contributes wherever he's most needed at the moment. As early as high school, Tim started working in the trades, learning all he now knows from four decades of experience in remodeling and repairs. He's worked both as an independent general contractor and an employed lead carpenter in Massachusetts in previous years. Additionally, he's held positions as an officer in the fire service and as an EMT in Medford, MA. These opportunities to serve his community are points of pride for Tim, and they've lead to commendations for service and extraordinary actions from both the Medford Fire Dept and the Medford City Council, along with the MA House of Representatives. Tim's favorite thing about his position at FBN is being a part of a talented and constructive group of people. He enjoys listening to the expertise and shared stories of old timers within the company. FBN's community, confidence, and priority placed on their customers are facets of the company that hold significant importance for Tim. He is a big believer in the importance of finding the positive in every moment and constantly being of service to those around you. Tim built his dream vacation home in the White Mountains of New Hampshire for his family some time ago. He enjoys fly fishing, hiking, long motorcycle rides, and time with friends and family around the campfire. For Tim, the greatest moments in life are around those he holds dear. He enjoys helping homeowners' own dreams come true in the same way that building his own vacation home was a dream fulfilled for his family.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Arizona State University, and comes to FBN with experience as a professional modern and ballet dancer. Jeff believes in exploring, in looking deeper and in acting with precision, three strengths that come along with professional ballet experience.
FBN understands that homeowners want to choose a contractor based not only on skill but also on fit. Because of this, we prefer to meet with potential clients for an in-depth conversation about their goals, expectations, and priorities to make sure that everyone is comfortable with and knowledgeable about the project, the people involved, and the process. This meeting is critical to making the right choice.
During the initial meeting, FBN will assess the overall project on-site and study any nuances to accurately predict and visualize the production requirements. When it is practical, FBN invites our subcontractors to join us and visually inspect the home as well. This type of input allows FBN to create an informed budget for the proposed project and to bring up any potential alternatives that may benefit the project, budget, or aesthetics.
After the initial assessment, FBN will prepare a preliminary budget based on the available information, the site assessment, and plans. Once the budget is completed, FBN invites clients to sit down with us and thoroughly review the budget line by line. This transparency provides homeowners with the information to make the choices that best suit their goals and budget.
Once a client has decided to move forward, agreements are signed and the project is set on the production schedule. With the preliminary budget approved, project development begins and an FBN Lead Carpenter is also assigned. The Lead Carpenter remains with the project for its entirety, ensuring that our clients enjoy expertise and continuity on site for every day of the project.
Up until construction begins, FBN continues to meet with clients, architects, designers, and other project-related team members to make sure that everything is in order for work to begin. During this pre-construction process, FBN is diligent in obtaining answers to any outstanding questions, finalizing selections, and setting deadlines. We also review and make copies of plans, apply for and secure a building permit, schedule subcontractors, and create job books that contain all construction related documents.
Once the project begins, FBN’s production process is designed to keep clients thoroughly informed and up-to-date on their project. We hold weekly meetings to keep clients informed of and involved in important decisions on budget, design, and other necessary factors that may affect the project budget or timeline. This is another way we allow our clients to not only be involved but also to understand and to be in control of their project’s costs. An internal FBN team meets regularly to address any issues that arise, review all meeting notes, and update current schedules and budgets. These meetings continue through the end of the project.
The FBN production team manages the end of a project for timely and efficient completion. At this time, they review punch-list items (when necessary) and verify that additional work requests have been completed. FBN schedules a close-out meeting with clients to answer any questions, discuss the client’s level of satisfaction with the project and the process, verify receipt of product manuals, and review FBN’s warranty policies and the final budget. With the contract closed, the homeowners are then free to enjoy their new home or renovation.
FBN continues to be available to clients even after a project is completed. In fact, with FBN Home Care, we can continue to be there to take care of any home needs, no matter how big or small.
